Third Annual Conference of Cubans in Toronto
Daniel Espinoza and Jorge Soberon, leaders of the Cuban community in Canada, comment on why it is important for Cubans from various cities in Canada to unite to discuss issues, problems and positive aspects of their immigrant experience.

The third conference was a great success held in Toronto, next year's meeting will be held in Ottawa.

TLN teams up with York University
TLN and York University are proud to spearhead an endowment program which awards an annual bursary to York undergrad students who write the best essays about Hispanic life in Canada. The bursary encourages the development of diverse voices and a breadth of viewpoints regarding the confluence of the Hispanic Diaspora and day-to-day Canadian living.

CIBC Diversity Month
TLN Telelatino joined CIBC for the 18th annual Diversity Month Kick off - June 1. 2010 is the third consecutive year that CIBC has been named as one of Canada's "Best Employers for New Canadians.
The festivities featured cultural foods, exhibits and performances that reflected the diversity and colourful mosaic of CIBC. TLN host David Rocco was also onsite for a taste of La Dolce Vita.

Luminato, Toronto Festival of Arts and Creativity
For a second consecutive year, TLN Telelatino was a proud Major Media Partner of the 4th annual Luminato, Toronto Festival of Arts and Creativity.

To mark this special media partnership, TLN and Luminato turned Toronto’s Yonge-Dundas Square into the ultimate Latin dance party, on Saturday June 12 kicking off the Light on Your Feet concert series with a “Latin Diva” Night.

Highlights included the Lula All Stars tribute to the queen of Salsa Celia Cruz and the international Princess of Salsa, La India. Click here for more info

TLN Telelatino was a proud sponsor of the 5th annual Giro T.O. in support of Villa Charities Foundation. Starting and finishing at Columbus Centre, on May 30, 2010, Giro T.O. took riders through Toronto’s distinctly Italian neighbourhoods in Toronto and Vaughan along the way.

Big Night at the Green Barn

TLN has partnered with the Stop Community Food Centre to recognize and celebrate the contributions of immigrant gardeners, to pay tribute to this important tradition as well as encourage new generations of urban farmers. The Stop's Backyard Garden Project will launch on June 2 with the Big Night at the Green Barn.

TLN is a proud supporter of Operation Husky 2013: We Must Remember
July 10 to August 8 2013, Sicily
On July 10th 1943, Canadian soldiers landed at Pachino, Sicily, marking the beginning of the Sicilian Campaign. While this campaign is little known, Operation Husky represented the first independent role for Canadian soldiers in the Second World War. Their success came at a cost of over 560 men.

In honour of those who fought and those who fell, Operation Husky 2013: We Must Remember is a memorial campaign to mark the 70th anniversary. The campaign will include organizing a 28 day campaign across Sicily, beginning on the beaches of Pachino on July 10th 2013.
